The Annapurna base camp and Muktinath trek is an intermediate level trek. It requires a good experience of walking and you also need to have a good physical condition as well. On the way, you see the stunning view of the great Himalayas such as Machhapuchare, Annapurnas, Daulagiri, Nilgiri and other beautiful mountains. It seizes the scenic picturesque charming during the trek. The Rhododendron, nation flower of Nepal, blooms in March-April.

The route further steps ascending up to the 4130m at the Annapurna base camp. Then the route descends to Chhomrong village and then ascends to Ghorepani Poon hill. You can have the best view of Annapurna region from this point. Then the trek descends until Tatopani (natural hot spring) and again it continues to follow Kali Gandaki valley till pilgrimage town of Muktinath. You can choose to either fly back Jomsom or walk back to Pokhara.

Itinerary

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu [1,300m/4,264 ft]

Upon our arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) in Kathmandu, we will be warmly greeted by a representative from Beauty Nepal Adventure. After completion of our custom formalities (Visa, etc), we pick up our luggage and look for our representative with Beauty Nepal Adventure display board at the arrival gate. We will be then escorted to hotel Kathmandu.Overnight in Kathmandu.

Day 02: Drive or flight from Kathmandu to Pokhara Flight 30 Minutes and 7 .30hrs drive )

Trek starting = Day 03: Pokhara to Dhampus (1650 m) 3/4hrs

After breakfast, we take 45 minutes drive to Suikhet Phedi (1130m), where our trekking crews will be waiting for us. Then we start the trek ascending the trial, from here the path diverts and climbs the ridge above the Yangri Stream and reaches the village of Astam at the top of the ridge. Follow the ridge west through the Henjakot & reach to Dhampus, from here one can have a closer view of Mt. Machhapuchre & Annapurna South. Over night stay lodge.

Day 04: Dhampus toLandrunk (1646 m) 6/7hrs

We start the trek & ascend up for an hour through the dense forest of Rhododendron & Orchid to a Pass at 2160 m then descend gradually for another an hour to reach Ghatte Khola for lunch. Then continue the slope downhill to Landrung. . Over night stay at lodge.

Day 05: Landrunk to Chomrong ( 1960 M) 7/8hrs

The first village you can be at Landruk (1646m), a typical Gurung (out of ethnical group) community. High on the opposite side of the river, you can explore the village of Ghandruk . From this point, the trial descends along terraced slopes & forest down to the river. After crossing the river at New Bridge, your trial moves to steep ascend 500m and join with the trial from Ghandruk.From here it is a short & fairly walk to Chomrong (1960m).Chomrong is a village which offers a spectacular views of Annapurna south & Machhapuchhre. Over night stay at lodge.

Day 06: Chhomrong to Dovan (2580m/8460ft): 7 /8 hrs trek

Upon leaving behind Chhomrong along the Modi Khola, we will be at inhabited foothills into the high step and wooded slopes of Himalayas. We cross the suspension bridge then trek up to Sinuwa Danda. The ascent from Sinuwa becomes somewhat flatter. The trail passes through thick and dark arresting rhododendron forest up to Khuldighar. Then the trail passes through deep bamboo and rhododendron forest to the village of Dovan.

Day 07: Dovan to Machhapuchhare Base Camp (3700m/12135ft) 6/7 hrs

The day starts with gentle gradual ascend following the trail above the river through a thick bamboo, oak and rhododendron forests up the side of the canyon. We cross two streams over small bridges. The trail further passes through solitary places. The nature’s wilderness and solitariness give peace to our mind. There is also the possibility of seeing a variety of species of wildlife such as wild pig, deer, and snow leopard. after the lunch at deurali,the trail climbs gently through a river bed and then it rises steeply over the mountain side. There are also avalanche prone areas at few points on the trail. After about half an hour’s walk from Deurali, we will find ourselves in middle of river bed surrounded by giant snow-covered mountains. When the sun rises, the snow on mountains shine and river valley is filled with warm sun rays. The hike to Machhapuchhare Base Camp is somewhat strenuous but the unfolding views of the majestic Machhapuchre are certainly a rewarding experience. Overnight at Machhapuchhare Base Camp.

Day 08: Machhapuchhare Base Camp to Annapurna Base Camp (4,130m/13,545ft): 2 / 3 hrs

On the way to Annapurna Base Camp from Machhapuchhare Base Camp, the vegetation disappears. We will encounter with the snow boulders melting and forming small streams. The path widens as we enter the Sanctuary, follows a stream, and then climbs to a few huts alongside a moraine. Upon arrival at this juncture, we will have sensational views of the near-vertical south face of Annapurna towering above the sanctuary. Annapurna Base Camp sanctuary boasts of a dynamic view without anything impeding panorama of the 360 degrees. The heart inspiring views of Machhapuchre, Annapurna south, Annapurna I, Hiuchuli and other peaks will be the boon of our hard efforts. Climax of our trip almost ends today! Overnight at Annapurna Base Camp (4130m/13550ft).

Day 09: Annapurna Base Camp to Bamboo (2310m/7575ft): 6 /7 hrs

At dawn, we relish the magnificent sunrise over the Himalayas from Annapurna Base Camp. Upon our breakfast, we start descending from Annapurna Base Camp to Bamboo back through Machhapuchre Base Camp, Deurali, Dovan and finally reach Bamboo. Heading back down to the valley is much easier than climbing up. We will see the waterfalls that drop down from a high point to the rocks below. We further pass through the forests with great views of Fishtail and Hiunchuli mountains. Overnight at Bamboo.

Day 10: Bamboo / Chhomrung 5/6 hrs

Descend a long, stone staircase through bamboo and rhododendrons forests to Kuldi. The trek continues through beautiful rhododendron forests and down to Sinuwa. From Sinuwa, the trail leads downhill to the Modi Khola, closing the day with a steep climb to Chhomrung.

Day 11: Chhomrung to Tadapani (2610M) 7/8hrs

The trial descends down to Kyumrong and all the way to Tadapani. From the trial, you can have superb view of Annapurna I, Nilgiri, Dhaulagiri etc. and the forest of rhododendron flower. Over night stay at lodge.

Day 12: Tadapani to Ghorepani /Poon Hill : (2840M) 6/7 hrs

Ascend the walk with magnificent view of western Himalaya , all the way to the base of best view point of Poonhill called Ghorepani.This point can be accessed either from Tirkhedhunga or from natural hot spring Tatopani. Over night stay at lodge.

Day 13: Ghorepani Tatopani (1189M) 7/8hrs

Today will be a special day because we conquer Poon Hill- an icon of Annapurna region. We climb the steep trail to the viewpoint of Poon Hill (3200mtrs). The efforts will be rewarded with spectacular views of Machhapuchre, Dhaulagiri, Nilgiri, and the Annapurnas. After taking photos and having some coffee or tea or hot chocolate, we return back to Gorepani. Upon breakfast, we head east and climb a nearby ridge. We descend through rhododendron forest, pass by spectacular views via Chitre ,Shikha and Ghara vilage to Tatopani -Hotspring.
This is an easier trek designed up to Poon Hill which lies into the foothill of the Annapurna massif. Poon Hill is located just 400m above Ghorepani and it would be an unforgettable experience for those to see early morning sunrise view from the vantage point. The hilltop also offers stunning views of the Himalayas ranging from Mt. Annapurna, Mt. Machhapuchhre (Mt. fish tail) and Mt. Dhaulagiri (8167m). On a clear day, it is even possible to see the transcendental valley of the southern side.

Day 14 : Rest day in Tatopani / Hot-spring

Tatopani is a beautiful small town with orange garden.You can have fresh orange juice there.
DISEASES CURED BY BATHING AT THE HOT SPRING –

The temperature at the hot spring ranges from 45*C to 48*C and is 54*C to 57*C at the foundation. The water in this hot spring consists of great amount of black salt and phosphorus which itself is a natural antibiotic. Due to this reason, the diseases are not transferable from one another while sharing the bath at the hot spring. By taking continuous bath in this hot spring, diseases like gastric, rheumatism, uric acid, back ache, skin disease, swelling, goiter and arthritis have been found to be cured. Depending on the nature and condition of the disease, people take bath in the hot spring for a period of couple of days to even weeks. The hot spring can occupy up to approximately 20 people at a time.

Day 15: Tatopani-Ghasa (2013M) 7/8hrs

Trek from Tatopani to Ghasa (2013m, it takes about five hours. The followed route ascends gently up the Kali Gandaki Gorge, the deepest gorge in the world, towards the village of Dana , which is surrounded by orange groves. This is the first Thakali village we come across and the houses here are all built in the flat-roofed Tibetan style. Overnight stay at guesthouse with breakfast, lunch and dinner included with Tea and Coffee.

Day 16: Ghasa- Marpha (2667M) 7/8 hrs

Trek from Ghasa to Marpha (2667m.) which takes about six and half hours. The trek ascends crossing the wide valley of Kali Gandaki for about six to seven hours. Through out the trek you will be enjoying the mighty Rhododendron trees and many ethnic villages with a sparse population of Gurung, Thakali and few Tibetans. Overnight stay at guesthouse with breakfast, lunch and dinner included with Tea and Coffee.

Day 17: Marpha -Jomsom / Kagbeni ( 2897M) 6/7hrs

Trek from Marpha to Jomsom (2713m.) to Kagbeni (2897m.) and it takes about five hours. You continue to follow the wide valley of the Kali Gandaki, passing through Khobang and Tukuche. Tukuche is a delightful village where narrow alleyways and houses built around enclosed courtyards attempt to provide some shelter from the winds which howl through the gorge. Overnight stay at guesthouse with breakfast, lunch and dinner included with Tea and Coffee.

Day 18: Kagbeni-Moktinath ( 3795M) 4/5hrs

Trek from Kagbeni to Muktinath (3795 m.) which takes about 4 hours. The Trail steeply ascends for couple of hundred Meters. While gradually walking, you can enjoy beautiful deserted landscape, Caves, old Tibetan Style Villages , apple Garden , Yaks Herds, Sheep Herds and so on. You can look at Thorong La valley straight up to the Muktinath. At this point, you can see splendid view of Dhaulagiri (8165m), Nilgiri (7061m.) and others. Now you walk for fifteen minutes to reach Muktinath Temple , where you can enjoy a holy bath of 108 Taps. Overnight stay at guesthouse with breakfast, lunch and dinner included with Tea and Coffee.

Day 18: Muktinath to Jomsom [2713m] 4/5hrs

Exploration the Muktinatha Pilgrim area Area

Muktinath is an important pilgrimage for both Hindus and Buddhists alike. In the morning, we pay our visit to a Vishnu Temple and a Gompa. Descending from Ranipauwa village down the steep and barren hillside.

We now begin descent down the dramatic Kali Gandaki valley, initially through arid country in the same geographical and climatic zone as Tibet . After passing through Jharkot and Khingar, villages with typical Tibetan architecture, we follow the valley floor most of the way to Jomsom. En route, we sight tremendous views of both Dhaulagiri and Nilgiri. Jomsom is a large town sprawled along both banks of the Kali Gandaki River , and it is here we will spend the final night of our trek. Overnight stay at guesthouse with breakfast, lunch and dinner included with Tea and Coffee.

Trek Ending = Day 19: Flight from Jomsom to Pokhara ( 900 Mtrs ) 20 Minutes

We take an early morning flight to Pokhara. It is a spectacular flight along the Kali Gandaki Gorge and provides wonderful views of both the Dhaulagiri and Annapurna ranges.To celebrate the successful completion of our journey, we will have a farewell dinner in the evening. Overnight in Pokhara.

Day 20: Rest sightseeing day in Pokhara

Day 22: Pokhara to Kathmandu ( By bus 7.30 hrs and by flight 30 Minutes )

We fly to Kathmandu in the afternoon. After arriving in Kathmandu, we will be escorted to our hotel. We enjoy the day leisurely or catch up on some last minute shopping or explore any landmarks we missed during our first day in Kathmandu.Overnight in Kathmandu.

Day 23: Departure your destination.

Transfer to international airport for your final departure. The trip ends, our Airport Representative will drop you to the Tribhuvan International Airport for your flight departure from Nepal.
