However it was challenging territory too, and we were very dependant on good guides and porters to look after us. Bijay was part of our group. Trekking in Nepal

In 2004 ontmoette ik Bijay voor de eerste keer. Hij was onze gids toen ik in Nepal was met Mathilde, een goede vriendin waarmee ik al vaak gereisd heb. Wij komen uit Nederland en houden erg van Nepal vanwege de cultuur, de vriendelijke bevolking en de wandelroutes door de Himalaya. Elke keer weer zijn de trektochten een geweldige en intense ervaring.

Samen met Bijay en een drager maakten wij in dat jaar een tocht, een combinatie van de Langtang-, de Gosaïnkund- en de Helambu-route. Het waren erg prettige weken en wij hebben Bijay leren kennen als een heel goede en ervaren gids. Hij heeft ons veel verteld over de Nepalese cultuur, wat de trektocht een meerwaarde gaf. Wij vonden het een fantastische belevenis en kregen beslist waar voor ons geld.
Bijay heeft ervaring met allerlei soorten tochten: met groepen en individuele wandelaars, in afgelegen gebieden zoals Dolpo en meer populaire bestemmingen als Jomosom, Annapurna en Everest Basecamp.

In October 2006 my sister Liz and I did a private trek along the Annapurna  Circuit.  We are both experienced Nepal trekkers and always enjoy the company of our Nepalese porters and guides as much as we do the stunning scenery. On this trek we travelled with our good friend Purna Gurang who introduced us to experienced guide, Bijay Ray. Several friends had also recommended Bijay and after spending a couple of weeks in close company with him, I can only say how lucky we were to trek with him.

His cheery disposition, extensive knowledge of the region, and good command of English makes him a great travelling companion. He was always pointing out things of interest, flora and fauna, geographical and social and often accompanied with his point of view.  Our knowledge and understanding of Nepal has been greatly enhanced thanks to Bijay. 

We also found Bijay to have very good organizational skills and to be totally honest and trustworthy and this has only been endorsed by others we know who have had dealing with him. 

An unfortunate accident has halted Bijays’ guiding career but you cannot keep an enterprising man down. Bijay has opened up his own trekking company and from all accounts he is applying the same high standards to this as he did as a guide. Trekking in Nepal

In 2004, I, Henriëtte, met Bijay for the first time when I was in Nepal; with a good friend called Mathilde, with whom I often travelled before.
We are from Holland and we like Nepal very much of its culture, the nice people and for trekking in the Himalaya's which is a great and intense experience, every time we go there.At that time Bijay was our trekking guide.Together with him and a porter we made a trek, which was a combination of the "Langtang", "Gosaïnkund" and "Helambu" trek. We had a few very nice weeks together and we got to know Bijay as a very capable and nice guide with a lot of experience in trekking.
He told us also very much about the Nepalese culture, which gave the trek an extra dimension.
Bijay has experience with all kind of treks. With groups or with individuals, to remote area's like "Dolpo" or to more popular areas, where Mathilde and I went, as did many other tourists (Jomosom, Annapurna, and Everest Basecamp).
Our experience is that his treks are a sheer delight and worth every penny you pay.

Trekking au Népal

Moi, Henriëtte, j’ai rencontré Bijay pour la première fois au Népal en 2004 pendant un de mes voyages avec Mathilde, une très bonne amie.

Nous venons des Pays-Bas et nous avons une grande admiration pour la culture Népalaise  et son peuple, ce qui rend le trekking dans l’Himalaya à chaque fois pour nous extraordinaire et très intense.

Bijay était notre guide pendant notre voyage en 2004. Avec lui et un porter nous avons fait un trek, ce qui était une combinaison des treks de "Langtang", "Gosaïnkund" et "Helambu". Reisen, Wandern, Touren durch Nepal

2004 trafen wir Bijay zum ersten Mal. Er war unser Führer (Reiseleiter) in Nepal.
Wir komen aus Niederland und halten viel von Nepal. Es war nicht unsere erste Nepal-Reise. Die Kultur, die freundliche Bevölkerung und die prächtige Natur ziehen uns immer wieder an. Die Wanderungen und Touren sind für uns grossartige und intensive Erfahrungen.

Mit Bijay und einem Träger machten wir eine Tour (ein ‘Trek’). Es war einen Kombination von der Langtang- de Gosaïnkund- en de Helambu- Strecke. Es waren angenehme Wochen (etwa vier) und wir haben Bijay kennen gelernt als einen guten und erfahrenen Führer. Er hat uns viel erzählt über die Nepalsche Kultur und Tradition, was für uns eine Bereicherung war. Es was ein wunderbares Erlebnis und wir bekamen sicherlich “Ware für unser Geld”.

Bijay hat grosse Erfahrung mit den verschiedensten Touren; mit Gruppen oder individuellen Wanderer in abgelegen Gebieten sowie Dolpo oder auch populären Bestimmungen, wie Jomosom, Annapurna und Everest Basecamp.

BIJAY RAI AND BEAUTY NEPAL ADVENTURE GUIDE RECOMMENDATION

I strongly recommend Bijay Rai as a guide having trekked with him to Annapurna Base camp in 2005 and with his company Beauty Nepal Adventure on The Annapurna Circuit in 2008. I was extremely impressed with the logistics and organisation of both trips and Bijay’s reliability. When travelling on your own it is important to feel secure and confident with your guide, that they have excellent knowledge of the mountains and the trek is planned and organised accordingly with safety being the main priority.
Both occasions have been unforgettable experiences and unique journeys exploring the amazingly beautiful landscape that Nepal has to offer. In addition Bijay has great integrity, excellent communication skills and a deep knowledge of the varying cultures, plants, birds, animals, natural habitats and land formations. He is very happy to answer any questions you may have. He is great company and has excellent interpersonal and social skills. Being a good communicator he imparts knowledge easily and with clarity but also knows when to give space and your own time, for reflection.
I work as an artist and enjoy identifying plants so spent much time stopping to photograph and sketch, Bijay was always very patient with me and I never felt rushed.

Very good and reliable trekking agency in Pokhara Nepal

If any of you people are looking for a good and reliable trekking agency in Pokhara to organize your trip I can highly recommend ours. Me and my girlfriend just returned from a 15 day trip through the Annapurna region and it was absolutely stunning. The agency that arranged it for us and provided us with a very good guide (funny guy, government official license and a very good knowledge of the region and traditional customs) is called 'Beauty Nepal Adventure'. They are very helpful, will give you a fair price and work with you to create a trip you are looking for.

If you are looking for a professional and ethical company to organise trekking in Nepal through, I can wholeheartedly recommend the Pokhara based comany 'Beauty Nepal Adventure'.

 

After researching our trip thoroughly, both from the UK and from Kathmandu, we wanted to ensure that we were supporting fair treatment of guides and porters. We found that BNA ticked all the boxes and more.

 

Bijay the owner was a guide and understood the needs of both the trekkers and the staff  and so we were delighted to use their service.

 

Furthermore, our guide 'Ruk' was an absolute diamond. He was extremely knowledgeable and interesting and we enjoyed his company immensely. He helped us to learn about the culture and history of the Nepali people and he not only ensured that we had accomodation every night but he took us to some beautiful and less well known lodges which we would never have found ourselves. He even stayed up with me all night when I was sick and kept my spirits up!!

We have had a fantastic 25 days trek with ‘Beauty Nepal Adventure’ from Trishuli to Pokhara by way of Manasulu.

 

Beauty Nepal Adventure was enthusiastic in helping us plan a route that included some trekking ‘off the beaten track’.

 

Our guide was energetic and resourceful in finding us a place to stay even in areas without ‘tea houses’ or ‘camp sites’and our cook (who was excellent) provided great meals even when the options were limited.

 

Our team was always attentive,helpful,good humoured and great fun.We were sad to break up on reaching Pokhara.

 

We will always have fond memories of this trek and the ‘Beauty Nepal’ team.

 

We plan to return to Nepal before long and will certainly be asking ‘Beauty NepalAdventure’ to help us organize our Nepal trip.
